International Anti-Corruption Day
Corruption Conference in Namibia

The Corruption Conference was collaboration between the Hanns Seidel Foundation (HSF), The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) and the Institute of Public Policy Research (IPPR) marking the International Anti-Corruption Day.

The keynote speaker was Steven Powell, an advocate, specialist white-collar crime prosecutor and forensics lawyer based in Cape Town. He presented best practice recommendations from his work in South Africa on reducing corruption and provided insights into global best practices in terms of anti-corruption compliance.

The UNDP, Deputy Representative in Namibia, Mr Neil Boyer shared a message on behalf of the UN Secretary General. In addition, IPPR Research Associates Prof. Bill Lindeke and Ellison Tjirera presented on Namibian Perceptions of Corruption at National, Regional and Local Levels based on the Afro-barometer survey conducted by IPPR.

Participants were various stakeholders from government, business, civil society and the general public.
