“Queen of Speech” gives Workshop at House of Democracy

The 24th of August 2015 marked the first internal House of Democracy capacity building intervention aimed at strengthen the internal skills and knowledge base of the HSF partners such as IPPR, NID, AIESEC, ACC, Change, DRFN, SADC Youth Forum & Insight Magazine.

The event took place in the form of a “Public Speaking and interviews Skills" workshop facilitated by acclaimed public speaker and media practitioner, Ms Josy Nghipandua. Ms Nghipandua helped the participants to understand the ways of communication and presentation. Due to interactive group exercises the attendees figured out how to structure an interview, deliver a speech or improve their body language.

The joint workshop was a result of combined effort from the House of Democracy “house partners” including HSF. All the HSF partners interact with the media regularly. There are many interview requests regarding the work of HSF's partners. The delivery of speeches to the public on various platforms is also very common.

The half day workshop was well received by the participants who welcome future events of such nature. At the end of a very rewarding and cheerful training, the participants expressed their gratitude to the HSF for the capacity building intervention and especially to Josy Nghipandua for the excellent performance.
