The Hanns Seidel Foundation in Nambia (HSF) offers internships to graduates or advanced students from Namibia and abroad. The starting dates are throughout the year.

The Hanns Seidel Foundation is currently present in more than 60 countries worldwide with over 90 projects and has liaison offices in Washington, Athens, Brussels, and Moscow. An internship at the HSF Namibia office is a unique opportunity to experience the working environment of a political foundation hands-on. It is a great opportunity for your professional development.

Your Tasks

  • As part of our team you will assist our project staff in the following areas:

  • Assistance in the organisation of high profile dialogues and/or conferences

  • Assistance in the organisation and assistance in training interventions in and outside of Windhoek

  • Assistance in report writing

  • Editorial activities

  • Assistance in public affairs

  • Social media activities

  • Contribution to analytical and strategic work

  • Administrative activities

  • Media Monitoring

Your Profile

To qualify for an internship at the Hanns Seidel Foundation Namibia office the following requirements must be met:

  • Must hold an undergraduate degree or be advanced in their undergraduate studies. Candidates from the following fields are highly encouraged to apply : Political Science, Media, Local Government, Economics and Law

  • Proof of socio-political commitment

  • Very organized & detail-oriented

  • Analytical mind

  • Interest in processes and procedures and how to improve them

  • Interest and possibly experience in working with databases and various web applications

  • Frequent user of internet services and good knowledge of MS Office, Excel and Email

  • Able to face tight deadlines and multi-tasking abilities

  • Excellent communication skills in verbal and written English; German skills are a strong advantage

  • Driving licence is a strong advantage

  • Ability to work effectively in a multicultural and dynamic environment

  • Driving license is an advantage


3-6 months

Interns are responsible for medical insurance and must prove coverage.


Interns are responsible for finding their own accommodation.


Foreign Interns must apply for a visa prior to coming to Namibia.
