The Hanns Seidel Foundation (HSF) is always seeking to expand its pool of experienced Training Consultants. Starting dates are flexible throughout the year.

A consultant opportunity at the HSF Namibia office is a unique opportunity to gain experience in the working environment of a political foundation, and a great opportunity for your professional development.

Your Tasks

  • As a Training Consultant your tasks include the following:

  • Conducting training workshops for civil society organisations lasting between 1-5 working days in and outside of Windhoek

  • Preparing training sessions and material to meet the needs of the participants

  • Implementing interactive training sessions with clearly defined learning outcomes

  • Concluding training sessions by handing out evaluation forms, writing a report and preparing training-related financial documentation in compliance with HSF regulations

Your Profile

To qualify as a Training Consultant the following requirements must be met:

  • Must hold an undergraduate degree or be advanced in undergraduate studies

  • Must have a minimum of three years of work experience as a trainer

  • Preferably experience in the development of training resources

  • Familiarity with the delivery of a variety of interactive training methods is a strong advantage

  • Demonstrated knowledge and/or competency in at least three of the following training subjects:

    • Civic education

    • Report writing and administration of meetings

    • Interpersonal and communication skills

    • Strategic planning

    • Financial administration

    • Working with media

    • Environmental awareness

  • Strong organisational skills and an attention to detail

  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Windows and email technology

  • Strong interpersonal and intercultural communication skills

  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English; further local languages (i.e. Afrikaans, Oshiwambo, Otjiherero or Damara) are a strong advantage

  • Ability and willingness to travel within Namibia; driving licence is a strong advantage
